It is completely incomprehensible why there are still no clearly understandable national guidelines for measures in the health sector, Vice President Harald Mayer said in a broadcast. The ministry should have worked all of this in the summer, as well as a functional and uniform contact tracing.
“The people, on whose trust the success of all pandemic measures largely depends, deserve clear and transparent decisions,” Mayer said. “That certainly won’t be achieved with more confusion and advertisements.” Therefore, he sees the Minister of Health as a challenge for the new measures to be announced on Saturday.
“The minister should not allow himself more mistakes”
Specifically, Mayer criticized the fact that pre-op testing is sometimes handled differently within individual hospital providers and different ways of counting those infected. “Instead, valuable time was wasted and a traffic light was built, so it is not yet clear what consequences the traffic light colors have and the criteria by which they work.” The situation of the pandemic has reached a crucial point, “the minister should not allow himself more mistakes.”
Anschober Appeals: “Reduce Contacts Immediately!”
Anchober (Grne) stayed true to his line and appealed to the population in a broadcast in view of the rapid increase in numbers. The situation is “now really dramatic.” In addition to the new measures that have already been taken and those announced, “all the inhabitants of Austria” are now needed. The Health Minister called for an immediate reduction in contact with other people.
