Styrian and his wife are suspected of harassing their grandparents in need of care for months and neglecting their animals.

The 27-year-old from the Weiz district and his 23-year-old wife from the Murtal district lacked respect and decency, as did sparks of humanity. Now the police are investigating the couple. The two are said to have lived between July and October with the young Styrian’s grandparents on their property, which consists of a house, a stable and an auxiliary building, in St. Margarethen an der Raab.

Grandparents (88 and 83) who needed care had to go through a lot. The youths are said to have harassed them multiple times and harassed them with loud music, threats, and damage to personal property. In their distress, they even called the police to take action against their rabid grandson.

Poorly cared for animals, but everything was littered

Subsequent investigations revealed that various animals (horses, sheep, dogs, cats, guinea pigs) were not properly cared for and maintained. The official veterinarian of the Weiz district administration checked the conditions at the site and confirmed the considerable deficiencies. In addition, large amounts of garbage and debris were found outside and inside the buildings.

The police officers prohibited the couple from evicting and entering. Both were reported at liberty to the Graz prosecutor.

The grandparents are now being cared for by a nursing assistant. A neighbor has agreed to take care of the animals until further notice. This is also supervised by the Weiz district administration.
