There were 2,835 new coronavirus infections in Austria on Tuesday. In addition, more than 1,000 deaths have already been recorded.

Eight months after the first confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infections in Austria, the number of deaths has risen to more than 1,000. By Tuesday morning, 1,005 people had died as a result of Covid-19. 2,835 new infections have been reported in the last 24 hours. The number of patients in the hospital has increased significantly. 1,400 sick people were hospitalized Tuesday, 203 of them in intensive care units; on Monday there were 188. 24,789 people were actively infected.

Most new infections in Lower Austria

According to the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health (at 9:30 am) 86,102 cases have been registered so far, it is considered that 60,308 have recovered. Most of the new infections were reported Tuesday with 590 from Lower Austria, in Vienna 456, in Tirol 407 and in Upper Austria 405. Styria reported 367 new cases, Vorarlberg 234 and Salzburg 208. In Carinthia, 97 infections were added and in Burgenland 41.
