Chancellor Kurz can befriend a shorter quarantine for K!

In an interview Monday, Chancellor Kurz came out in favor of a shorter quarantine for K1 contacts. The Ministry of Health is currently examining several options.
After several ÖVP ministers, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) is also in favor of a shorter quarantine of K1 contact persons. “If the number becomes too large, it will also paralyze our country at some point,” said the vice president of oe24.tv, referring to the burden on the location of the business. However, according to a preliminary announcement, Kurz restricts: “This path can only be followed if it is scientifically justified.” The Ministry of Health is currently investigating.
“Free trial” after five days
Anyone who has had close contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19 but does not become ill must be quarantined for ten days. The period starts from the last contact; a negative test does not shorten this quarantine. After a corresponding approach by business representatives, the Minister of Tourism, Elisabeth Köstinger, and the Minister of Education, Heinz Faßmann (both ÖVP) asked for the possibility of a “free trial” after five days.
Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) promised to examine more easements, but held back expectations of a swift implementation: “Especially in times of massive increases in the number of infections, I am not prepared to take a greater risk to the population.”
