In Vorarlberg, 234 new infections were recorded on Sunday, this is the highest level since the start of the pandemic. The virus also claimed another victim.
With the last daily update at 4pm, the country’s corona control panel showed 234 new infections in 24 hours on Sunday; never before have so many new infections been recorded in one day since the start of the pandemic. On Monday another death by corona was recorded.
Of the new infections, 94 are still being clarified regarding the origin of the infection. In six cases, an infection can be assumed outside the country: Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein.
One person was reported to be healthy during the observation period. The number of those who actively tested positive in Vorarlberg is 1,485. As the day before, 43 people are hospitalized, eleven of them depend on intensive care.
Since the start of the pandemic in March, 3,779 people have tested positive for the coronavirus and 2,264 are considered to have recovered. There are currently 1,485 Vorarlberg infected with the virus, a high level since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of hospitalizations has also increased in recent days. Currently, 43 Vorarlbergers must be treated in hospital for a Covid infection, eleven of them in the intensive care unit.
Districts
Most of the active cases are currently in the Bregenz district (477). They are followed by Feldkirch (436), Dornbirn (384) and Bludenz (177).
Municipalities
Currently there are active corona cases in 79 of the 96 communities in Vorarlberg. Most of them in Dornbirn (199), Feldkirch (131), Lustenau (130) and Bregenz (124).
7-day incidence
The seven-day incidence, which indicates how many out of 100,000 people tested positive in the past seven days, is 273 for Vorarlberg. The seven-day incidence across Austria is 203 (as of Monday at 2pm).
The highest seven-day incidence in the federal state comparison is in Salzburg with 302, followed by Tyrol with 285. This is followed by Vorarlberg.
This number is especially important with regard to travel advisories. An incidence of 50 is a guideline here.
The seven-day incidence is currently more than 200 in all districts of Vorarlberg. The Dornbirn district currently has the ninth highest value of all Austrian districts with 386.3.
Monday comparison: number of new infections doubled
With 2,456 new infections on Monday in 24 hours, the number of positive PCR tests remains at a high level; a week ago it was 1,121, that is, less than half.
