No quarantine exception for Austrians

In the run-up to the national holiday, Bavarian Health Minister Melanie Huml warned Austrians about shopping trips in Bavaria. There are no quarantine exceptions for shopping, Huml (CSU) emphasized Sunday night.
“Even if we like to have our Austrian neighbors with us under normal circumstances, cross-border travel just for shopping is not a good idea with the current corona infection situation and is not allowed.”
Avoid Contacts: “At Home and Beyond Borders”
The daily increase in the number of infections is concerning, Huml said in a broadcast. “Contacts of any kind should be avoided as much as possible, both nationally and internationally.” The minister explained: “The quarantine obligation applies to all who enter Bavaria from a foreign risk zone. A purchase, however brief, is no exception. Only a negative test, which should not have more than 48 hours, it may be the quarantine obligation. “
Germany Extended Travel Warning
Due to the increasing number of infections in this country, Germany announced on Thursday that it would extend its travel advisories for Austria. With the exception of Carinthia, the German government has now classified all Austrian federal states as risk areas. The travel advisory for the eight federal states is in effect as of Saturday.
Huml appealed: “I ask everyone to use common sense. This is not the time to travel and meet. We want to prevent the virus from spreading as much as possible.”
