KURIER-OGM poll: SPÖ on the rise after Vienna elections, ÖVP 40 percent

With the tailwind of an election won in Vienna, the SPÖ surpassed for the first time the result of the September 2019 National Council election. At that time it received 21 percent, according to the current poll it is 23 percent.

Compared to the poll’s low in the spring (in March it was 16 percent, in June it was 19 percent), the SPÖ even reached four points.

The leadership of the red party expected this gain as a result of a successful election in Vienna. On Löwelstrasse, positive polls are expected to give party leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner some breathing space.

FPÖ just double digits

If elected now, the FPÖ would only be in double digits at eleven percent. At five percentage points, the blue in the survey is compared to the results of the 2019 National Council elections. This drop should also be a continuation of the Vienna elections, a negative in the case of the blues, as they were literally crushed on October 11 (from 31 to 7 percent).

The Neos stagnate at eight percent.

Government parties gain confidence

Both turquoise and green are well above the results of the National Council elections; in short, turquoise green would expand the majority of government today. Compared to September 2019, the unequal coalition partners have gained trust and so far both sides have benefited from the government’s joint work.

The Greens are 16 percent in the poll and have increased by two points compared to 2019.

At currently 40 percent, the ÖVP is also well above its electoral result of 37.5 percent.

However, the highs the Kurz party floated at during the shutdown (45 percent in March, 42 percent in June) have faded again. The gap between the ÖVP in first place and the SPÖ in second place is still a whopping 17 percentage points.
