Austria Klagenfurt conceded their first defeat in the sixth round of the 2nd division. The Carinthians have to admit defeat to SV Lafnitz 1: 2 in the away game.
The Violets are outnumbered for an hour, as Kosmas Gezos is sent off in the 30th minute after a goal steal outside the field’s penalty area.
However, the guests take the lead in the 44th minute: after a corner kick, Markus Pink is on point with his head and celebrates his third goal in the current championship. In the 61st minute, the Styrians are happy with the draw after a corner kick: Martin Krienzer spits the ball over the line shortly after being substituted. Philipp Wendler scored the winning goal in the 86th minute, again off a corner kick.
The Klagenfurt team had to compete without their playmaker Julian von Haacke, who tore a cruciate ligament. Lafnitz celebrates the second win in a row and regains the favor of a 2: 4 loss to Carinthians in the cup a few days ago. Furthermore, the Styrians, temporarily at least, take the initiative.
