Crown numbers are increasing; this now also has an impact on the crown traffic light. On Friday, 21 Austrian districts jumped to the red, five of them in Lower Austria. Are affected St. Pölten (city), Bruck an der Leitha, Mödling, Tulln and Amstetten. The latter jumps directly from yellow to red.

At the same time, Germany has issued a travel warning to all of Austria, except for Carinthia. The Netherlands also advises against traveling to Austria. The stoplight commission completed the round of bad news that night. It has colored Austria much more red than the previous one. 21 districts have turned red. Five of them in Lower Austria.
Measures in red districts
In Lower Austria, Bruck an der Leitha, Mödling, Tulln and St. Pölten-Stadt have now been changed from orange to red. Amstetten jumped directly from yellow to red after the number of infections there increased significantly recently. The Lower Austrian state government has already defined measures in advance that apply in the event of a red change:
• State clinics and nursing homes: Visits to state clinics are limited to deliveries, children’s departments, and hospice visits. Visits to care and support centers are limited to two visits per day with a maximum of two visitors each.
• Kindergartens: In the red districts, parents who are able to do so are encouraged to watch their children at home. In principle, however, the kindergartens remain open.
• Gastronomy: Even in the red districts, contrary to initial plans, the curfew will not be brought forward.
Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner justifies keeping the last curfew: “With a few exceptions, people are adhering to the measures in the restaurant sector, and this is having an effect. The proportion of infections in this area will decrease. In this way, the hosts and their own guests ensure that the curfew does not have to come early at this time. This is the best example of how everyone can contribute to keeping restrictions as low as possible. “
