[ad_1]

At lunch, around 12:30 pm, the 87-year-old man is said to have stabbed his 85-year-old roommate multiple times in the face and upper body with a knife. A nurse rushed to help the injured man and was able to prevent the 87-year-old from further seizures by screaming loudly. The defendant then fled, but was arrested shortly after by alerted police.

The attacker, who was seriously ill with dementia, was transferred to the Neuromed Campus of the Linz University Clinic and suspended on Monday. The Wels prosecution has launched an investigation on suspicion of attempted murder. At the moment, nothing was known about the motive for the crime. The 85-year-old man was taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck.
