As the KURIER discovered on Monday evening, the Zaunergasse federal high school in the city of Salzburg will be officially closed from Tuesday until the end of the autumn holidays. The reason is a corona cluster. At least 22 teachers and numerous students are said to be in quarantine. The BG Zaunergasse is one of the largest schools in the city of Salzburg.

“Contact tracing is no longer understandable to health authorities,” said an email from the school to parents, which KURIER has received, as a reason for the closure. The school expects to resume operations on November 3.

Postponed school work

For all students, including those in the lower grades, lessons are now taught again through distance learning. All school work and tests this week will be postponed. According to reports, there should be a connection to the corona outbreak in the Kuchl community in some cases of infection.
