In a nursing home in Upper Austria. Vöcklabruck district, an 87-year-old resident apparently injured an 85-year-old man with a knife at lunch. The attacker, who was seriously ill with dementia, entered the Neuromed campus of Linz University Hospital and was suspended on Monday. The Wels prosecution has launched an investigation on suspicion of attempted murder.

The older man is said to have stabbed the roommate multiple times in the face and upper body with a knife. A nurse rushed to help the injured man and was able to stop the 87-year-old man from further attacks by screaming.
