The new corona measures announced by the government on Monday also affect culture. Starting at midnight on Friday, cultural events can only be held with assigned seats, MNS for the entire duration of the event, without buffets and with a reduced number of visitors: exterior maximum 1500 people, interior maximum 1000 people.
This affects the Vienna State Opera, which recently had more than 1000 visitors even under the previous crown restrictions. Otherwise, the renewed visitor restriction hardly has any real effect, the big rock concerts had been canceled before, and most other venues have fewer than 1,000 seats or have recently been able to sell far fewer than 1,000 tickets due to the measures of the crown. From the concert hall it was said, for example, that no one would have to be discharged; Individual tickets may be rebooked for other dates.
Cultural events without fixed seats are no longer possible, but these, like standing concerts, were already severely restricted. Small events must also register now.
Life should go on, said Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler.
