A 61-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a failed overtaking maneuver Sunday morning in Alberschwende.

The motorcyclist from Feldkirch was on the L200 in the Alberschwende area in the direction of Egg. At the height of the Thurner Elektrobau company, the man passed a vehicle in front of him, missed an oncoming car and subsequently collided head-on. As a result, the man was thrown off his motorcycle and trapped under the car. With the support of several passersby present, the driver managed to lift his car and push it back.

Couple with child came out unscathed

In the approaching vehicle sat a young couple with a baby who was as unharmed as the child. Feldkircher, 60, suffered serious injuries in the frontal impact and had to be taken to hospital in the C8 rescue helicopter.
