Most corona cases in Flachgau and Tennengau

Salzburg health authorities reported another Covid-19 related death on Sunday morning. He is a 69-year-old man from Flachgau. On Sunday, 31 Covid-19 patients were in the Salzburg hospital, five requiring intensive medical treatment.
With the death in Flachgau, the number of deaths in Salzburg increases to 45:
- City of Salzburg: 3
- Flachgau: 12
- Tennengau: 2
- Pongau: 18
- Pinzgau: 9
- Lungau: 1
182 newly infected people in the state
According to EMS, the number of actively infected people in the state of Salzburg was 1,020 cases on Sunday. Another 182 people (as of Sunday, 9.30am) had positive test results that had not yet been registered with EMS.
Most of the new infections occurred in Flachgau and Tennengau:
- Salzburg City: 29
- Flachgau: 76
- Tennengau: 52
- Pongau: 2
- Pinzgau: 23
Crown numbers: peak reached in March
The seven-day incidence in Salzburg rises dramatically to 140, the number of affected communities is 95, which corresponds to the previous high in March, according to the state medical direction.

1,672 new corona infections in Austria

With 1,672 new infections in Austria as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday, the number of people who contracted the corona virus in 24 hours remains high. That’s almost twice as many new confirmed cases as in the same period last Sunday. A record 1,747 new infections were reported yesterday Saturday.
The Health Ministry reports 1,672 new corona infections within 24 hours (starting at 9:30 a.m.) on Sunday morning. 182 of these were registered in Salzburg. For the first time, there are more than 1,000 actively infected people in Salzburg.
So far, 64,806 positive results have been obtained in Austria. As of today (October 18, 2020, 9:30 a.m.), 893 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the corona virus and 49,561 have recovered, according to the home page of the Ministry of Health. Currently 742 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 135 of them are in intensive care units.
