Thomasberg in Lower Austria: Spectacular Rescue of a Cow from the Garage Roof

[ad_1]

Use of animals in Lower Austria with a happy ending

A cow slipped down an embankment in Thomasberg (Neunkirchen district) on Friday afternoon and landed on the roof of a garage, the Königsberg fire brigade reported on its website. The roof was unable to support the weight of the ungulate and partially collapsed, causing the cow’s hind legs to get stuck. The Königsberg and Edlitz fire brigades were alerted to rescue animals.

The animal’s desperate attempts to break free from its predicament initially made rescue impossible. A named vet anesthetized the cow. It was finally recovered from the roof with a crane. Except for a few scratches, he was unharmed.
