On Friday afternoon a fatal traffic accident occurred on the western motorway near Seewalchen am Attersee (Vöcklabruck district).
“A 65-year-old man from the Grieskirchen district drove his off-road vehicle and trailer on October 16, 2020 around 12:25 pm in the entrance area of the Westautobahn in Seewalchen am Attersee in the direction of Salzburg. His vehicle skidded in the acceleration lane and slid into the right lane. Subsequently, a 67-year-old Bulgarian truck driver was unable to evade in time and there was a collision. The truck also collided with a car belonging to a 38-year-old man from the Vöcklabruck district The seriously injured 65-year-old man was trapped in his car and had to be rescued by firefighters. Despite immediate resuscitation attempts, the man died at the scene of the accident. The 38-year-old man was injured to one degree unspecified and was transferred to the Salzkammergutklinikum Vöcklabruck after initial treatment, “police reported.
