Yesterday, Upper Austria recorded a new record for corona-infected people with 1,516 people. Therefore, the state is now taking protective measures in the homes of the elderly and elderly and in the management of contact persons in coordination with the experts of the Crown Board.

“The fact is: We want to protect those who get sick as best we can and prevent our intensive care units from being overloaded. That is why we specifically implement extended protection measures in the Residences and residences for the elderly. In order to contain the spread of the virus, we have to break the chains of infection quickly. Therefore, we want to strengthen and improve the management of contact persons necessary for this. Our measurements are accurate and proportionate, ”says Upper Austria Governor Thomas Stelzer.

Contact tracing should be easier

Therefore, the compulsory gastronomic registration is now being implemented in Upper Austria. “Upper Austria introduced voluntary guest registration in the catering industry in July to facilitate contact tracing in case of infection. Due to the increasing number of infections, contact person management is also becoming increasingly challenging in our state. That is why we have decided to make guest registration in the catering sector compulsory in Upper Austria as well, ”explains Regional Councilor for Economy and Tourism, Markus Achleitner.

The registration requirement is also coming soon in Salzburg. These have been around in Orange Vienna for a few weeks. Linz criticized the planned introduction of mandatory registration in the restaurant industry. This is of little help to the authorities with contact tracing, “as up to a third of the information in Germany was incorrect,” said Mayor Klaus Luger (SPÖ). He also fears that even more celebrations are now moving to the private sector.
