Innsbruck – two districts (Innsbruck and Innsbruck-Land) in red and four districts (Schwaz, Kufstein, Landeck, Imst) in orange – action is required in Tyrol from today at the latest. Because the corona virus is spreading rapidly, 221 new infections were reported in 24 hours alone last night.

Tracking contacts in the environment of those who have tested positive is increasingly difficult and the number of clusters is increasing. After the curfew was brought forward, the Tyrolean state government decided on Thursday to further toughen the rules. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz had vehemently called for this for the federal states that were particularly affected.

Dish: “Containment is not possible without restrictions”

He understands that the many rules and regulations for Tyrolese are “exhausting and exhausting,” said Governor Günther Platter (ÖVP) at a press conference last night. “But it is not possible to contain the corona virus without restrictions.” That is why the state government agreed to an eight-point plan of measures in discussions with experts.

The prescribed steps are initially valid for three weeks, “in a fortnight we will see how what has been decided now works.” To identify where it may be necessary to sharpen, the situation will be “closely monitored” in the near future, Platter explained. “It’s not over,” he insisted.

Homeschooling for high school begins

The number of daily visitors to nursing homes, nursing homes, hospitals and facilities for the disabled is limited to two per day per resident. In the orange or red districts at the Corona light, high school students will switch to homeschooling. Universities and technical schools also have to restrict face-to-face courses.

The state administration is moving to the central office. “Whenever possible,” Platter said. “In consultation with the social partners, a call is being made to all Tyrolean companies to do the same.” Public events can only take place with assigned seats, a maximum of 250 participants, and no bar. However, exceptions can be requested, as Platter named the Tyrolean State Theater as an example.

Bar inscription is coming

In the future, only 100 people will be able to attend funerals. A registration requirement for the restaurant sector will be introduced, but the curfew will remain at 10 pm And the life of the club does not remain intact either. “The activities will be reduced to the real purpose of the club,” emphasized Platter, “so it is not possible to visit the dining room after soccer practice.

The measures apply as of today, with the exception of the home enrollment and enrollment requirement for high school students, which only go into effect on Monday.

Felipe: “Disquieting development”

“It’s getting more serious again,” said Ingrid Felipe (Verdes). According to the lieutenant governor, the regulation aims to “re-control the infection curve. We do not want a second blockade.” Felipe spoke of a “major problem” and a “worrying development” in the private sphere, in celebrations or in the family.

This is also why Felipe and Governor Platter advised specific consideration for risk groups and the use of outdoor masks. In particular, however, the number of private meetings should be limited as much as possible in the next three weeks.

Microbiologist Cornelia Lass-Flörl demanded that social contacts be “massively reduced”, which is “the only thing we know is effective.” Lass-Flörl said that the “active infection process” today could also be gradually reduced. (bfk, pn, TT.com)
