Austria softens travel warnings for Croatia and Bulgaria

Due to an improvement in the Covid 19 situation in Croatia and Bulgaria, Austria is restricting the travel warning for both countries to certain regions. As the Foreign Ministry announced Thursday, the relaxation will take effect at midnight on Saturday.

So far, the highest travel advisory level (level 6) has been applied to both countries. This will now be replaced by a partial travel warning (level 5). Starting at the weekend, the travel warning will no longer apply to the seven Croatian counties of Brod-Posavina, Istria, Koprivnica-Križevci, Osijek-Baranja, Šibenik-Knin, Varaždin and Zadar. The travel advisory remains in effect for the rest of the country.

In Bulgaria, the mailing lists include those administrative districts for which a travel warning continues to apply: these are the 16 areas Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Dobrich, Gabrovo, Jambol, Kardzhali, Montana, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Shumen, Sliven, Smoljan, Sofia, Stara Sagora, Targovischte and Varna.

Individuals entering Austria from a country or region for which a travel warning applies must submit a negative test for Sars-CoV-19.
