CARINTHIA. Today, too, there were a few corona cases in Carinthia: at 5pm (from 8am) there were 25 cases, but five cases were again excluded from the statistics due to data cleaning in the Wolfsberg district. The numbers have increased in the following districts: St. Veit (+11), Klagenfurt City (+5), Völkermarkt (+4), Villach City (+2) and, with one case each, Villach Land, Hermagor and Klagenfurt Land.
Patient at Friesach tested positive first
There is also a new case in the St. Veit district psychosocial rehabilitation center, with which 23 residents and five employees are infected.
When a patient arrived at the Friesach Hospital, he tested positive on a routine corona test. He was separated, as were five other patients, because they were considered Category 1 contacts. Due to extensive protective measures, hospital staff were only considered Category 2 contacts.
However, a second corona test gave a negative result. Those responsible believe that the patient was already in a weaker stage of corona infection when he was admitted to the hospital. After the second test, it is now considered recovered, meaning it is no longer contagious. This means that the measures can be withdrawn.

The Carinthian experts will meet again tomorrow
Chancellor Sebastian Kurz today demanded a tightening of the federal states. Governor Peter Kaiser reacted to Kurz’s appeal to the federal states as follows: “Every Friday we discuss the new traffic light change with experts from our crown coordinating committee. We take care of the regional situation, as in the ‘orange’ districts of Hermagor and Völkermarkt, where we have set priorities. We will continue to do so: step by step, depending on the color of the traffic light, we will evaluate and take action. “
The steps to be taken for St. Veit will be announced tomorrow.
