Strache receives a million dollar loan from an entrepreneur for a party

For the state election campaign in Upper Austria in 2021, there is a strong financial spike from an anonymous businessman, Heinz-Christian Strache explained.

The party of the former head of the FPÖ and vice-chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, the “HC Strache Team”, is preparing to stand in the state elections in Upper Austria. Strache outlined the timetable for this at a press conference Thursday. The loan from a businessman from Upper Austria who offered his support “will definitely amount to more than one million euros,” he revealed.

“This loan approval is there,” Strache said, pleased. He added that he did not want to give the name. In any case, in Upper Austria, preparations for the upcoming autumn elections will start on time, Strache announced. The “financial and structural” base should be created there before the end of the year. In early 2021, the team is planning a New Years reception, among other things. “The road continues,” prophesied Strache, who does not want to compete in Upper Austria himself.

He does not want to hunt down the FPÖ politicians

Anyone who wants to be part of the “citizen movement” in Upper Austria is welcome, he emphasized. However, one will not actively approach members of the FPÖ state parliament and persuade them to convert, Strache said. In Vienna, before the elections there, he had managed to win a total of four leaders for himself. Therefore, in the local council there was a fraction of the party, which initially operated as the “Alliance for Austria”.

In addition, structures are now being built across Austria for Strache’s team, the former FPÖ chief announced. As in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and Upper Austria, the establishment of other regional groups is planned. He will not let the poor result of the Vienna elections stop him, as he stated: “You know, Rome was not built either and it was built in a day.

Middle planned “center-right”

The performance in Vienna was less successful than expected, but at least a “basis” for future work. “Of course you are not in a jubilant mood.” Strache’s team achieved a 3.27 percent share of the vote in the Vienna elections. The five percent threshold was clearly overlooked. Strache had named a double-digit result as the goal of the election. According to his party leader, the party was able to win “at least 17” district council seats.

However, Strache himself does not want to go to any district representation, as he confirmed. This should now be done to fellow campaigners who would have campaigned for him. Strache remains the leader of the “honorary” party. He also wanted to found an online medium, he explained, which should be positioned “center-right.” Something should be “added” here no later than early next year. He did not elaborate yet.

No comment from Haimbuchner

Strache was also asked on Thursday if he would remain registered in Vienna. The debate over whether he has the center of his life in the federal capital or in Klosterneuburg shaped the last electoral campaign. Strache said he wanted to keep his place of residence in Vienna: “That is my plan, I have no plans to change that.”

At the Upper Austrian FPÖ, people held back on Strache’s announcement and possible competition in the 2021 state elections: “I take the liberty of not commenting on every dialogue bubble,” said state party leader Manfred Haimbuchner .
