“It’s a good social plan”
Therefore, this Thursday morning there was a public works meeting in front of the headquarters in Vienna. Around 120 people losing their jobs and at least as many people who wanted to show their solidarity, including members of the Dpa union and the production union (Pro-Ge).
The works council Wolfgang Reiter took the stage and had good news for those affected: an agreement was reached and the negotiations of the social plan concluded in the last hours of the night. “The social plan is not good, it is really good,” Reiter said. Loud applause and whistles were the response.
“It is significantly higher than 4.5 million euros,” Reiter told KURIER and continued: “It is a good social plan, we have achieved a lot that was important to us.” It will be signed next Monday.
The task now is to maintain collapsible box production (new package) with 215 employees on site. “Today you never know, we are fighting for all jobs,” Reiter said.
