At around eight o’clock, a 66-year-old driver of a car pulled into the opposite lane on Hopfengasse and collided head-on with a three-axle tipper. The impact was so severe that the 66-year-old was trapped in his car. Firefighters released him from the crashed vehicle and took him to Kepler University Hospital. There were traffic obstructions in the area of the crash site. An alcohol test on the truck driver returned a value of 0.52 per thousand, police said in the afternoon.
