Silence in the woods: Following the board meeting yesterday, Tuesday night, the HC Strache team initially announced on Wednesday a verbal restraint regarding the future of the party.
General Secretary Christian Höbart referred to the APA request at a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning. On Tuesday, before the committee meeting began, Strache announced that he did not want to become a district councilor.
Party Team Strache: will existence continue without Strache?
Höbart later said that this issue will be discussed at the meeting. He didn’t want Strache’s decision to be set in stone. The Secretary General was silent today on the outcome of the internal debate.
The party will continue to exist. Tomorrow’s press meeting will explain how and whether with or without the former vice chancellor and head of the FPÖ in an active role.
After the Vienna elections: Strache faces cryptic things
In his most recent Facebook post, Strache himself also left open whether he could still change his mind, writing somewhat cryptically: “It was not the end, but just the beginning of a new and honest movement for civil liberty and a family.
