“He will definitely not be a district councilor.”

HC Strache wants to start a magazine

Heinz Christian Strache wants to become an entrepreneur and founded his own magazine.

Former FPÖ head and vice chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache stated in an interview with “News” magazine that he did not want to accept a district-level mandate. “I myself, of course, will remain a political person, but I certainly will not be a district councilor, but I will support future district councilors from Strache’s team whenever I can,” the online report was quoted as saying. Instead, he wanted to work as an entrepreneur and start a magazine, Strache said.

Secretary General Christian Höbart was somewhat surprised by Strache’s statement when asked by the APA. The matter should have been discussed at the board meeting that night.

Details are yet to be decided

In fact, Strache had already said internally that he did not intend to accept a mandate from the district council. Höbart did not want Strache’s decision to finally be set in stone.

HC Strache team in Vienna without a chance

Although mail ballots are still being counted, the HC Strache team will most likely not move to the local council and state parliament. A party dissolution “is not in the room at all,” Höbart said. A public statement should only be made on Wednesday or Thursday, Höbart said. Nothing will be communicated immediately after the meeting.
