More than 1,000 corona positive tests were reported again Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, more than 1,000 new corona infections were reported in Austria. Vienna recorded the largest increase, followed by Lower Austria and Tyrol.
In Vienna alone, 306 new infections were reported on Tuesday and 183 corona-positive tests were evaluated in Lower Austria. With 152 new infections, Tyrol is also among the top 3 federal states. Upper Austria also passed the 100 mark in new infections.
Crown numbers in the federal states
New infections since the last report are distributed among the Austrian federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 30
- Carinthia: 32
- Lower Austria: 183
- Upper Austria: 112
- Salzburg: 74
- Steiermark: 96
- Tyrol: 152
- Vorarlberg: 43
- Vienna: 306
The number of people in hospital treatment increased by 50 patients. Of 611 hospitalized patients, 107 required intensive care, an increase of 10 compared to Monday.
Six people died
Another six people died in connection with Covid-19, so 861 people have died since the outbreak of the pandemic in Austria. 57,326 positive PCR tests and 44,949 recovered so far result in 11,516 active cases, a 25 percent increase in one week. The number of hospital patients increased by almost 23 percent during this period.
A total of 21,708 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, with 4.7 percent of those testing positive. In the federal capital alone, 10,880 tests were carried out, and the proportion of positive test results was 2.8 percent, well below the Austrian average.
