Beer party leader wants to become district councilor in Simmering – Vienna elections

The beer has already cooled down and a toast is expected on Tuesday: according to projections, the beer festival can expect several district seats.

“I really want to take on the task and, of course, I gladly accept the mandate of the voters,” explains leading candidate Marco Pogo, still a bit unwell, on the “day after” of“Today”-Interview. It was not enough to move to the local council, but according to a table published by ORF journalist Martin Thür, the beer festival can expect 12 terms in district representatives.

Punk band singers move to Simmering

“I haven’t even realized that, but I’m very happy,” Pogo said Monday, drunk with joy. In addition to Leopoldstadt, Landstraße, Favoriten, Simmering and Meidling, there will soon also be a beer festival mandate in Penzing, Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, Ottakring, Brigittenau, Floridsdorf, Donaustadt and Liesing. The only problem: the party only named six people to its district rosters, and therefore was unable to fill all the seats.

However, since subsequent nominations are possible, the Pogo wants to catch up as soon as the final result is certain. So a woman should also be on the male list so far. The singer of the punk band Turbobier promises that all mandates will be fulfilled. How exactly? From casting shows to lotteries: “Anything is possible. No vote will be lost,” says the doctor, who would like to take political responsibility in his home district of Simmering.
