A 21-year-old man died in a traffic accident in Zwettl. The driver of the car collided with an oncoming car.
The 21-year-old from the Zwettl district drove by car on Monday morning around 7.40 am in the Zwettl district on the L68 coming from Zwettl in the direction of Limbach. At the same time, a 51-year-old man from the Gmünd district was driving his car in the opposite direction.

According to police, the 21-year-old likely veered off the street to the right for a previously unknown cause, after which he drove his vehicle hard to the left and likely got into the opposite lane. Subsequently, there was a collision with the approaching 51-year-old vehicle.
Both drivers trapped in vehicles
Both handlebars were trapped in the vehicles by the force of the impact and could be released by first responders and volunteer firefighters. Despite rescue measures by first responders and an emergency doctor, the 21-year-old died from his fatal injuries at the scene of the accident. The 51-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Horn State Hospital in the helicopter of the C2 ER doctor.
