A seriously injured man was involved in a traffic accident between a truck and a car on the western highway near Eggendorf in Traunkreis (Linz-Land district) on Monday afternoon.

Three fire brigades, the rescue service, the emergency helicopter, the police and the highway operators were alerted in the afternoon about a serious traffic accident on the western highway in the municipality of Eggendorf in Traunkreis. Because it was not initially clear whether a person was trapped or not and the direction of the road was also unclear, three fire departments were called to the scene of the incident. Fortunately, contrary to initial assumptions, no one was directly trapped in the vehicle. The driver of the injured car was taken to the hospital in the helicopter of emergency doctor Christophorus 10 after initial treatment by the ambulance service and an emergency doctor.

The Westautobahn in the direction of Salzburg was temporarily closed during the landing and take-off of the emergency medic’s helicopter, and the lanes also had to be closed during work at the accident site.
