A court ordered the arrest of two alleged speeding offenders. The men are said to have participated in an illegal car race on the A66 in Hesse, which resulted in the death of one person.

According to the police, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Two Lamborghini and a Porsche participated.

The 29-year-old driver of the Lamborghini crashed into the central barrier between the Diedenbergen and Hofheim junctions for reasons that were not yet clear and then collided with a Skoda.

Both cars are said to have caught fire and burned. The person at the wheel of the Skoda died at the scene of the accident.

The victim has not yet been identified, a police spokeswoman said upon request. Two other passersby were injured and treated at the hospital.

The Lamborghini driver was also taken to a hospital. According to police, the 26-year-old Porsche driver initially fled but later surrendered. Both men are now in custody.

The driver of the second Lamborghini is on the run. His car was seized by the police in the town of Hofheim in Hesse.

A “multitude” of indications about the case was received. Investigators review, among other things, a video that was circulating on the network and collected by various media.

The clip was recorded with the mobile phone and shows two Lamborghini and a Porsche. Vehicles travel fast, change lanes frequently, pass on the right; there is a lot of traffic on the highway at that time.
