Vienna elections 2020 | Feel: FPÖ even beaten by NEOS

At 8.1 percent, NEOS beat the FPÖ by 7.5 percent (status: early projections).

NEOS chief Beate Meinl-Reisinger is happy about NEOS’s good result in the Vienna elections: “The fact that we are ahead of the FPÖ is sensational,” she said that night at the NEOS party headquarters after SORA to announce a corresponding published extrapolation. For the first time, NEOS can join a coalition and form a strong majority with it. The joy is enormous.

“Now we want to show what would go further if NEOS were in government,” Meinl-Reisinger said. “I think it was a team effort, but there was a man at the front who was not trusted,” he praised top candidate Christoph Wiederkehr. She told him something very important before the election campaign. “I told him not to listen to me, but to himself.”

Meinl-Reisinger is clear that NEOS wants to co-govern. “We are concerned about the better future for our children,” he emphasized, adding other issues that are important to the party, such as transparency and the creation of new jobs.
