The Corona group around two kindergartens in the Völkermarkt district has expanded, as the Carinthia State Press Service announced in a broadcast on Saturday. Consequently, a retirement home is now also affected in the district. Three employees and one resident tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. 16 Category 1 contact persons have already been investigated. They have been segregated and are being tested.
According to the state press service, the new infections may be related to the Globasnitz kindergarten. This increases the number of two clusters around two kindergartens in the Völkermarkt district to 55 affected people. The responsible doctor ordered an examination of the surroundings of 15 employees and 25 residents of the affected house in the Völkermarkt district.
In early October, a kindergarten teacher in Globasnitz tested positive for the corona virus. With Gallizien, a second kindergarten in the district was affected by the coronavirus two days later and the number of those who tested positive increased to more than 50 people. The corona traffic light in the district now turns orange.
