There has been a petition against the Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tichanovskaya in her home country. Russia is also implementing this, as can be seen from a database.
RAccording to the Tass agency, the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tichanovskaya, has been subjected to a search. This comes from the database of the Interior Ministry in Moscow, the agency reported on Wednesday. Consequently, the reason for the search alert is that Tichanovskaya is wanted for violations of the criminal code. As Tass writes, citing Russian security groups, Tichanovskaya was put in search of Belarus. Since both countries form a union state, the application will also be implemented in Russia. However, the tender does not apply internationally.
Tichanovskaya, 38, is considered by the opposition in Belarus as the real winner of the presidential elections in early August. But after 26 years in power, President Alexandr Lukashenka confirmed himself for a sixth term with 80.1 percent of the vote. Since then there have been protests in the country. Tichanovskaya fled to Lithuania shortly after the elections. She is currently in Berlin. During her stay in Germany, she seeks support for her cause. She told the FAZ: “Lukashenka treated people like animals.” Her hope now lies in Chancellor Angela Merkel, whom she met on Tuesday in the German capital.
