Here’s what Djokovic says about the linesman’s upcoming shooting

After Novak Djokovic knocked down a linesman again at the French Open, albeit inadvertently, he is concerned.

It happened again: Novak Djokovic shot another linesman in a Grand Slam tournament, this time unintentionally. At the French Open in the round of 16 against Russia’s Karen Khachanov, the Serb stretched in vain while trying to return a serve. The ball hit the frame of her racket and from there, unhappily, it bounced off a linesman’s face.

The number one in the world rankings immediately apologized. The match could be played again, Djokovic reached the quarterfinals with ease. But even after the game, the linesman incident was remarkably deep in his bones. It was a “strange deja vu,” he said afterward.

The 33-year-old said: “I’m actually trying to find this linesman. I want to see if he’s okay because he had a little bruise, a kind of redness, where the ball hit him.” I was hoping to be fine, because it was a great blow.

“Of course, due to the events in New York, a story will be made. But that has happened to me and many other players in the last 15 years since I have been on the tour,” said the Serbian.

It has been almost a month since Djokovic was disqualified from the US Open. In the round of 16, the Serbian threw a ball back, visibly frustrated, without looking. Not particularly spicy and probably not intended to harm anyone. But the ball hit a linesman on the neck, she immediately fell to the ground. The “Djoker” was disqualified shortly after after the referees’ discussions.
