At Trofaiach secondary school (Leoben district) in Upper Styria, a mini-group with corona infections was known last Friday: ten students and two teachers were infected with Covid-19. More test results are still pending, according to APA’s request from the Styrian Department of Education. The first positive case was known on Friday.
As a precautionary measure, the school was closed on Monday by the Leoben District Authority in accordance with Section 18 of the Epidemic Act. According to the Styrian Directorate of Education, other schools in the city were initially unaffected.
An infected master
A new corona case in the Villach Land district also makes it necessary to close a school. A teacher at Feistritz / Drau High School tested positive for Corona. Because he taught five classes, all the students are now quarantined. Due to contact with the teachers, 35 teachers were also segregated at home. All students in the five classes and teachers are evaluated.
Since all teachers are in quarantine, the school must be closed completely, there are seven more classes. It changes to distance education, the measure is valid for 10 days. Contact tracing is running.
