A fatal work accident occurred in Werfen (Pongau) on Sunday night. As reported by the police, a 57-year-old man from Burgenland was in charge of maintenance and security tasks on the signal systems along the ÖBB route. In the course of the maintenance walk, the worker broke the wooden beams of a railway bridge and fell about eight meters. He suffered fatal injuries from the impact.
To determine the exact course of the accident, the prosecutor ordered the participation of an expert. Train traffic was not affected by the accident.
