The perpetrator can be overpowered by the security forces of the Jewish community and arrested by the police. He comes from Berlin, why he was in Hamburg currently is unclear. The attack brings back memories of the attack on the synagogue in Halle / Saale on October 9, 2019. At that time, the heavily armed right-wing radical Stephan Balliet (28) tried to break into the church, where 52 believers celebrated the Jewish holiday more high, Yom Kippur.
