In Upper Austria, the 1,430 sirens worked perfectly in this year’s civil defense test alarm on Saturday afternoon.

There are currently 8,221 sirens across Austria, the functionality of which was also tested as part of the civil defense test alarm. Across Austria, 8,189 of the 8,221 sirens worked perfectly, corresponding to 99.61 percent. In Upper Austria, all the sirens worked perfectly this year, the Federal Ministry of the Interior announced on Saturday afternoon.
In addition to Upper Austria, all the sirens in Burgenland and Vorarlberg also worked without problems.
