Thousands of people demonstrated for and against Corona’s policy on Saturday at Lake Constance. With the so-called chain of people of peace, among other things, the “lateral thinking” initiative has mobilized more than 1,000 people along the shore of the lake. This number was well below the expectations of the organizers. Also in the Austrian bank only a few participants were seen.

The organizers had registered 15,000 participants in advance for the human chain alone. It should have passed through Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland and thus connected four countries. The goal was to unite people, send a European signal against the crown’s measures and enter into a dialogue with the government, according to co-organizer Gerry Mayr. The Konstanz businessman believes that quarantine is a modern prison and the mask requirement is an injustice.

Counter-protesters from various groups paraded in front of the human chain with banners clearly recognizing the crown’s measurements. There were occasional discussions between the individual camps. The police spoke of peaceful protests. Traffic disruption was also initially limited.

There have been 29 meetings and demonstrations throughout the weekend in Konstanz. On Sunday, the “lateral thinking” initiative wants to demonstrate against the crown policy from 9:00 am in Konstanz. According to the city, 4,500 participants were registered for the rally near the shores of Lake Constance.

At rallies, “Reich flags, imperial law flags, and symbols that clearly relate to the era or crimes of National Socialism and a connection to the current crown pandemic” have been banned by the city.

In late August, flags of the German Empire were flown at a Corona rally in the Reichstag in Berlin. The protesters had broken barriers.
