On Friday, Viennese FPÖ coach Nepp and his predecessor Strache met in a televised duel. Among other things, expenses were discussed. We did it without niceties at all times.
Friday saw the first direct meeting between FPÖ Vienna coach Dominik Nepp and his predecessor Heinz-Christian Strache in a television dispute. In the confrontation in the context of ORF III’s duels, the two proponents were alone, but otherwise largely gave up on friendship. Strache even indicated that Nepp had been informed of incorrect expense reports.
Strache zu Nepp: “You too, my son Brutus”
“Unfortunately, you are also responsible for the accusations and the treason,” complained Strache, who is accused of having billed private expenses such as party expenses. According to Strache, a former bodyguard stated that he had made such “conversions” without his knowledge and informed Nepp about them. “What role did you play there?” Asked the current HC Strache team president: “I almost have the impression that you are involved.” Also: “You too, my son Brutus.”
Nepp immediately assured that this representation “of course not” corresponds to the facts. “This is complete nonsense, completely untrustworthy,” emphasized Nepp, who suspected Strache at some point would claim that he, Nepp, was there in Ibiza. Strache always described himself as a victim, the real victims were his former employees and also disappointed voters, said the head of the Vienna FPÖ.
Nepp stated that in view of the numerous accusations and proceedings, Strache did not have time to deal with politics, while the FPÖ defended the Viennese. The former vice chancellor and former head of the FPÖ saw it differently. Nepp’s program is to be against Strache.
Nepp: Strache’s policy is pure “ego show”
“You really let freezing cold prevail here at the party,” Strache complained. No one was behind him after the “political attack”. Nepp, in turn, was satisfied that there were no more leaders, there were four, who had joined Strache’s team. Strache’s politics is a pure “ego show,” as many have already recognized.
Both parties ruled out a reunification. And this is not even necessary, party leaders found, albeit for different reasons. Liberal voters would hide behind the FPÖ on October 11, their boss was convinced. Strache, in turn, prophesied that Nepp would be history on Election Sunday.
