In today’s monthly balance of the Ministry of Finance, the costs of Covid-19 aid are also broken down. Thus, 174 million euros have been spent on the controversial fixed cost subsidy. The framework for this is eight billion euros, but many companies are still waiting for your applications.

At the same time, the Finance Ministry is in dispute with the EU Commission over an extension of the measure. Finance Minister Gernot Blümel (ÖVP) continues to fight for speedy approval.

Apart from that, until September 15, 6,400 million euros were granted in reductions and deferrals in the payment of taxes, 6,700 million euros were granted in guarantees and around 540 million euros were disbursed in the emergency fund. Total disbursements from Covid’s crisis management fund amounted to around 2.3 billion euros on September 15, the ministry said. Additional payments for short hours and unemployment benefits amounted to 5.5 billion euros from January to August.

“Our relief measures are vital support for businesses, so taxpayers’ money is well invested here,” Blümel said.
