On Tuesday, more than 31,400 tests were entered into the Austrian resident epidemiological register in 24 hours. Almost half of them, exactly 14,726, came from Salzburg. Recently, the state had always attracted well under 1,000 tests per day. “So far, we have only registered officially registered tests. We are currently changing that,” a spokesman for the country said Wednesday in response to a request from the APA.

As is now common in other federal states, the number of tests performed privately in laboratories and in hospitals will now be recorded. “In a first tranche, the tests carried out on two companies are now recorded retrospectively from 1 September,” the spokesperson said. Since other institutions in the state are evaluating the smears, there should be more upward corrections in the coming days. “By then at the latest we should have a good overview of how much is actually tested in Salzburg every day.”

In order to receive the numbers quickly and quickly, data lines were established for individual laboratories. An application also ensures that laboratory personnel can quickly and easily enter and transmit the daily number of tests.

The number of tests in the other federal states was about the same as the average for the last seven days. There was a greater advantage in Tirol and Vorarlberg, as well as in Vienna.
