Education Minister Heinz Faßmann criticizes health authorities in relation to the handling of Covid 19 cases in schools. Here “more uniformity” is needed.
“We currently have too much diversity in the actions of the health authorities,” Faßmann told reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers. It depends on the Ministry of Health here.
Rather strange cases related to the coronavirus are known over and over again. On Wednesday, for example, the Tyrolean “Kronen Zeitung” reported that in several Tyrolean schools only half of the classes were quarantined because the hometown district administration is responsible for each student and they can make different decisions.
Faßmann calls for “more uniformity” in Corona cases in schools
On Wednesday, Faßmann was not satisfied with the different way suspected cases or close contact persons (K1 persons) are currently being treated. “Without a doubt, we need a homogeneous decision-making behavior on the part of our health authorities.” Even if you understand federal diversity, “more uniformity” is needed here, Faßmann demanded.
Faßmann referred to his ministerial colleague Rudolf Anschober (Greens) who continued to speak with his government colleagues and the responsible ministry on the matter. You shouldn’t even decide here that you depend on the Ministry of Health.
