He didn’t like it at all: the touch and star chef Rudi Oberbauer renounces the honorary citizenship of his native Werfen community, which was awarded to him in 2013. The reason for this is an interview with the mayor.

“I gave the letter to the mayor’s secretary,” says Rudi Obauer. Ever since acquaintances let him know about an interview with Mayor Hubert Stock at the “Kronen Zeitung”, he has been upset. Stock is quoted as saying, “We don’t have any restaurants on the market.”

Rudi Obauer, who has run an award-winning gourmet restaurant on the market in Werfen with his brother Karl for four decades, is so upset that he now renounces his honorary citizenship.
