The zero tolerance for exceeding curfew hours announced by the Interior Ministry was also implemented during Sunday night: the police carried out a total of 3,102 checks during key actions across Austria.
“Anyone who does not adhere to the guidelines must expect consequences at any time. It is up to everyone to contribute to reducing the number of infections through personal responsibility,” emphasized Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP).
90 reports of curfew violations
In general, the curfew would have worked well. During the checks there were 90 reports, 62 of them in Vienna, said the department head, who announced more checks for the next few days.
