Committee U: It’s going to be dirty next week

Former footballer Barthold invited as a dubious “key witness.”

Ibiza scandal. Instead of finally reaching out to the people behind the Ibiza video, watching the video in its entirety, and discovering the party’s donations to FPÖ-related associations, the Ibiza-U Committee gets bogged down in the coming week with some completely insignificant and some extremely dubious witnesses.

One of the more dubious figures on the game scene, former soccer goalkeeper Peter Barthold, will be the focus of U-Committee Week next Wednesday.

A few years into his football career, Barthold was a Novomatic business partner, operating several betting and gaming establishments, and making millions in the process. It is said that he raised 2.5 million just in exchange for his bars.

After that, Barthold, of course, slipped into human drama, he must have played his millions, and now he’s not only bankrupt, but also privately bankrupt.

Since then he has been following his ex-partner Novomatic as something of a “game scene Münchhausen” with allegations that sounded exciting, all of which have turned out to be false, of course. Sometimes he wants cash to be given to politicians, for example Peter Westenthaler, and then he wants to know about “secret deals”.

All the accusations he launched in the media had to be overturned, for example, in “News”. And the almost a dozen lawsuits against Novomatic, which Barthold has filed in series and in which he wanted to “bet” up to 750,000 euros, were all legally dismissed. Even the economic and corruption prosecution, which otherwise cracks down on Novomatic with great severity, called Barthold “unreliable” and suspected that the former footballer and former soldier of fortune was making money with Novomatic with these ” false claims “wanted to blackmail.

Neos MP Stephanie Krisper (legendary U-Committee-Sager: “Des geht ma am Oasch”) has of course been closely linked to Barthold for years and now leads him on Wednesday as a “key witness” against Novomatic in the U -Committee of Ibiza. Krisper wants to know everything you know about Novomatic and the “Glücksspiel-Münchhausen” casinos. That leads to a serious scandal even before Barthold’s appearance. Novomatic is outraged that a “blackmailer” who has legally failed in all the claims against them and who is in private bankruptcy must testify against them in parliament. It threatens many lawsuits if Barthold repeats the allegations that have already been disproved in court before the committee.

Krisper, who proposed this dubious witness, is also under pressure. Gert Schmidt, who is usually well informed when it comes to Ibiza videos, has already stated on her “spielerinfo.at” page that the Neos could receive party funding from Barthold sponsors.

So next week he will be very dirty in the U-Committee. It is quite possible that Stephanie Krisper escaped from another meaty “Das geht ma am Oasch” …
