There were 4,479 active cases in the federal capital on Friday. Lower Austria reported 136 new infections, 1,169 people are actively infected. In Tyrol, 62 new infections were added in the last 24 hours, a total of 549 people are currently infected. Upper Austria recorded an increase of 52 cases, 739 people are considered active cases.
15 new cases in Salzburg
Vorarlberg reported 41 new infections, which means 455 active cases. In Styria, 39 people were infected, 513 people are currently positive for SARS-CoV-2. Carinthia reported 22 new infections, with which 127 people are actively infected. In Salzburg, 15 cases were added, 247 people are considered actively infected. Burgenland reported eight new infections in the past 24 hours, making 135 people active cases.
Salzburg reports 809 tests in 24 hours
Across Austria, 20,409 tests have been entered into the Resident Epidemiological Register (EMS) since Thursday morning, more than ever since the start of the pandemic. As before, the figures in the individual federal states were very different. With the exception of Burgenland and Salzburg, all other federal states registered more than 1000 PCR tests. In Vienna there were 5,684, in Lower Austria 3,040, in Upper Austria 2,564 and in Carinthia 2,444. In Styria, exactly 2,000 tests were reported in the last 24 hours, in Tirol 1,909 and in Vorarlberg 1,051. In Burgenland, 908 tests were added compared to Thursday, in Salzburg there were only 809. A total of 1,528,191 PCR tests have been carried out across Austria since the start of the pandemic.
