Last season’s runner-up in the second division, Austria Klagenfurt, celebrate a crazy 3-2 home win against Young Violets Austria Wien on matchday three.
Oliver Markoutz scored the opening goal in the 48th minute. A van Haacke pass cannot be cleared by the Viennese defense and falls at the feet of the Carinthian goalkeeper in the penalty area.
The Young Violets appear immersed in a rainy game, at long distances, along with the candidate for promotion. For a long time, however, Harald Suchard’s team did not take advantage of the opportunities it created.
Huskovic heads in from the best position next to the goal and gives the young violets the best chance to equalize (79th).
In injury time, things turn around: Pross scores the tie in the first minute of injury time, and just a minute later, the Klagenfurters are awarded a penalty.
Hadzic does not put it in the goal, as Helac guesses the corner. However, Greil turned the rebound around after a running duel with Macher (90 + 3). Not even a minute later, the Young Violets are back to equalize for Huskovic (90 + 4).
But in the end, the Carinthians are left with the best ending. Greil serves Dario Pecirep from the right, who pushes towards victory and thus puts the final point behind a crazy final phase (90 + 6).
With the victory, the Carinthians clinch second place with seven points, two points behind the impeccable Lieferingern. The Young Violets, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season and are ranked 14th.
