A title with a sense of proportion that preserves purchasing power and secures jobs.
Vienna (OTS) – The negotiating teams of the PRO-GE and GPA-djp unions were able to reach a quick conclusion today with all the employers’ associations in the metal industry. Actual wages and salaries and KV will increase by 1.45 percent, as will allowances and apprenticeship compensation. In companies with the collective agreement time account model, employees can increase their hours from less than 120 hours to 180 hours. That should help secure jobs. In addition, each of the around 190,000 employees in the metal industry will receive a crown bonus of 150 euros. “With this title, people will not be left in the lurch in these difficult times. It is a title with a sense of proportion. The social partners acted responsibly and paid attention to safety, stability and reliability, ”say employee-side negotiators Rainer Wimmer (PRO-GE) and Karl Dürtscher (GPA-djp).
“It was important to us to achieve sustainable increases in wages and salaries and to maintain jobs in the metal industry. The crown bonus is a sign of respect for employees who have often had to work in difficult conditions in recent months, “said Wimmer and Dürtscher. They are both satisfied that the employer has refrained from suspending KV negotiations and that the social alliance has not been broken. “A zero wage round would have slowed the economy even more in times of crisis. It is a matter of common sense that the negotiations have been carried out and that a fair agreement has been reached, with which purchasing power is maintained ”, said Wimmer and Dürtscher.
